Meals on Wheels is honored to host and to be the beneficiary of several signature and community events which allow us to raise funding and awareness supporting our mission. Click any of the events for more information.

Greenville Country Club-Chanticleer & Riverside Courses

First held in 1997, the Fall Classic Golf Tournament has become one of the largest fundraisers and most notable golf events in the Upstate, raising more than $2 million since its inception.

First held in 2007, Wheels for Meals  features a Metric Century, a 40 mile ride and a 25 mile ride.  All participants are treated to an exceptional start/finish venue and a challenging routes suitable for cyclists of all levels.  View 2009 Photo Gallery

2010 Volunteer Recognition Celebration!

 April is Support Meals on Wheels Month at Jimmie Dawgs in Simpsonville…Jimmie Dawgs supports local charities in cooperation with the Kinder Family Foundation and had designated the entire month of April as Meals on Wheels month. Jimmie Dawgs will be donating $.25 per hot dawg/sausage sold during the month of April to MOW.

spinx runfest-smallThe Spinx Marathon Returns!  The 2010 Spinx Run Fest will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2010, in downtown Greenville.  This year’s event will feature the return of the Marathon, on a new course including newly opened sections of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. There will also be a Half Marathon, 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Fun Run, with all proceeds going once again to Meals on Wheels of Greenville.  Last year our organization received $10,000 for our participation – and we hope this year is a success as well.   

Volunteers Needed – This year Spinx and the Greenville Track Club are looking to Meals on Wheels to provide a majority of the volunteers to make the event a success…and we need your help!!  This is a great event for student groups, church or civic groups, families, etc. as it takes place on a weekend.  We can also validate any service hours that students or groups may need.

      • Wednesday, October 27 from 6-9 p.m. for packet stuffing
      • Friday, October 29 from either noon-4 p.m. or 4-8 p.m. for packet pick-up.  Both of those events will take place at the Greenville Drive Stadium.
      • Saturday, October 30 from 7 a.m. to noon for everything from helping with water stations, course monitors, finish line help, etc. You will recieve a (great looking) T-shirt.
