Guidelines
for Meals on Wheels Program

| Meals
on Wheels recipients are homebound and incapacitated residents
of Greenville County, SC who cannot prepare their own hot
meals, and have no one else to provide for them. They
are delivered one hot meal each day Monday through Friday.
Meals are available for short term or long term needs.
Meals are available to those who are homebound, living alone,
without regard to age, income, race, religion, national origin,
sex or handicap. |

Requirements:

Be
homebound, i.e., do not drive or driving must be very limited

Be
physically or mentally incapacitated to the point where meal
preparation is difficult if not impossible

Live alone
or with another incapacitated person. Or is alone during the
day and is not able to provide themselves with a meal

Have a
limited number of non-working family members in the area

Completed
Meals on Wheels Referral Form. Forms must be completed,
signed and submitted to MOW by the referring Physician, Social
Worker, or Home Health Agency. They should have the
forms in their office. We will call the potential meal
recipient within 10 business days after we receive the form
to do a telephone interview and then start their service.

Information:
Meals
are delivered between 10:00AM - 2:00PM. Meal recipients must
be home during those hours to receive meals.

Commodity
Supplemental Food Program
Meals
on Wheels accepts applications for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
The CSFP is a monthly government sponsored, program in addition
to meals received through Meals on Wheels. This box of non-perishable
food is delivered to qualified recipients by volunteers. To qualify,
participants must meet specific age and income guidelines, and
be willing to be placed on a waiting list. For more information,
