Helping our Community
Join us in serving hope to our community.
All of our clients are referred by a physician and there never has been a waiting list. Meals are provided free of charge with no financial qualifications necessary to receive meals. Our clients are homebound and physically or mentally challenged to the point where meal preparation is nearly impossible.
Most clients live alone and the visit from the Meals on Wheels volunteer is the only interactions they receive on a daily basis. Volunteers monitor the welfare of clients on their routes and serve as a link to other community-based services, such as transportation, home health services, financial services and even home repair and handicap accessible modifications.
Refer a Client:
If you are a physician or social worker and would like to refer a client:
Complete a Meals on Wheels Referral Form and email the form to referral@mowgvl.org.
A member of our Client Care Team will contact the referred recipient to determine their eligibility by completing an assessment in person or by phone. Meal delivery generally begins within 2 – 3 days after the assessment is complete.
